User training, change management, and support are critical elements to the success of any SaaS initiative. Different than other business systems, SaaS users often have not had access to enterprise applications the way other employees have, and are not used to changing their processes to incorporate technology. Accordingly, a training strategy to empower users on proper usage of SaaS applications, as well as their responsibilities, is necessary at all levels of the organization. This is why a well-planned and implemented training strategy is critical for a successful SaaS deployment.

Training should not be an afterthought with SaaS implementations. The human factor in SaaS dictates that budget allocated for training should reflect its importance in the overall SaaS deployment strategy. After all, it is less expensive and easier to invest in properly training employees at the beginning of a deployment, versus re-training system users after they have developed bad habits or experienced the frustration of figuring it out on their own.
